STONE I - Loss of control on 4 January 2020

On 4 January 2020, STONE I was alongside by Ensted Oil Terminal in Aabenraa, Denmark, og discharged gas oil. At approximately 0930 the weather worsened and gust winds affected the ship. As the wind speed increased the ship started to drift outwards fromt the berth and soon after the mooring lines broke. It drifted uncontrollably and the loading arm was torn from the ship's manifold causing a large quantity of oil to be spill onto the deck and a minor quantity into the sea.
