ANNA MÆRSK - Occupational accident on 27 March 2012

In the morning of 27 March 2012, during a port stay in Kobe (Japan), a drill with the rescue boat was planned on board the container vessel ANNA MÆRSK. During the two-man crew’s embarkation of the rescue boat, a split pin in the rescue boat’s suspension failed, and the boat and its crew fell approximately 18 metres to the water.

In the accident one crewmember was killed instantly. The other crewmember was seriously injured.
